Welcome to Tuul Riverside Lodge!
We wish you a pleasant stay and hope we can help you catch a glimpse of the magnificence of Mongolia!
Electricity and Water:
We are happy to share that we have now regular power supply; however, power-cuts may still be a challenge. Please note that electricity and running water are available during generator operating hours:
Mornings from 7.00 am to 10.00 am
During Lunch time at about 12.00 – 1.00pm
Evenings from 6.00 pm to 09.00 pm
During the night, one flush and minimum light is available in the bathroom through a solar powered accumulator.
Environmental Sustainability
Tuul Riverside Lodge is an environment friendly facility that actively tries to keep its plastic waste at a minimum. Therefore we provide our guests with a fresh water canister in the Restaurant Ger – whenever you run out of water feel free to refill your bottle!
For similar reasons and also to save water we do not automatically change the towels in your Ger – if you would like fresh ones please feel free to signal this by placing them on the floor.
Operating the Fire-place:
For your personal safety, we would like to ask you not to operate the fire-place by yourself.
Our ger camp staff will take care of the fire in your ger twice daily any time from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm:
Please let us know in advance at what times you would like us to heat your ger (the ger assistant will inquire after the time.)
Additional requests (during all hours) are of course welcome, and can be arranged for an extra $5. Please note that your bedding is warm, and that constant heating usually is not necessary during the summer season.
Child Care Taking:
Please do not leave your children unattended at any time in the ger, as the fire-place stays hot a while after it extinguishes, and is potentially dangerous. Babysitting and child care taking services can be provided on request.
Horse riding:
The horses are not kept in an on-site stable, but roam freely on hills nearby, and need to be brought to the lodge upon request.
- Please let us know 4 HOURS IN ADVANCE if you wish to horse ride and note that the signed indemnity form will be requested before you set out.
- Please let us know of your riding ability, so our horseman can select the horse most suitable for your enjoyment. Please also be aware that as much as our horseman will try to select a horse meeting your requirement, Mongolian horses are sensitive to their surroundings. While around the horses, and during your ride, please refrain from shouting, waving hats, scarves, or any other material, or acting in any way that could scare the horses.
- Please be careful to NOT stand or pass close behind the horses to avoid getting kicked.
Checking In and Out
Check in time starts at 2.00 pm. Please be ready to check out by 11.00 am.
(Note that this does not apply if you have booked an early check in/ late check out.)
Luggage can be stored in the reception ger after check out time, until you depart the camp.
